Professional victims share the same story

Professional victims all repeat a familiar line.

“I never got the opportunity.”

But if we’re honest and look closer, did these professional victims ever:

  • Take a chance?
  • Actively look for an opportunity?
  • Develop the skills needed to recognise or take one?

Complaining is always easier than taking constructive action.

For many people, choosing the easiest path becomes a lifelong habit.

Loss feels far more painful than gain feels exciting.

When we’re speaking with prospects, what often motivates them most isn’t what they might gain, but what they risk losing by doing nothing.

They might lose time with their children.

They might lose the chance to travel while they’re healthy.

They might lose the ability to support causes that matter to them.

Life is short. Most people don’t want to spend their entire lives helping someone else achieve their dreams.

So how do we build momentum quickly?

  • Option 1: Try to motivate existing team members.
  • Option 2: Introduce new people into the business.

Option 2 consistently creates more momentum.

Humour

I was going to wait for the right opportunity… but it didn’t know where I lived.

Some people say life is about timing. Others say it’s about getting off the sofa.

I tried blaming circumstances once. Very comfortable. No progress at all.

I realised motivation often arrives just after action — not before it.

Opportunity usually looks like effort wearing work clothes.
