We do not have to rely on mental toughness alone to build a mindset for success. We have help.
Our brains reward us when they release endorphins, the “feel-good” hormone.
Here are a few simple ways this happens:
- Exercise.
- Watching a good drama on television.
- Meditation.
- Dark chocolate.
Now, I do not know about you, but this gives me a choice.
Choice one. Exercise.
Choice two. Dark chocolate.
So the next time you see me eating dark chocolate, and that should be fairly often, remember I am doing it purely to enhance my positive mindset.
Words we can change to get better results
Our Advisors often say, “I am going to look for prospects.”
That is a mindset. It means they are looking for people to sell to.
By changing just a few words, we can create a much better mindset. Teach them to say, “I am going to look for people to help.”
Now everything changes.
With this mindset, finding new prospects becomes easier. Prospects also respond better because they enjoy talking to someone who is genuinely looking to help them.
Small growth still counts
Did we grow a little more today?
Big changes in our career do not happen overnight. Small changes add up.
Ask yourself which works better:
- Studying personal development for 24 hours nonstop.
- Studying personal development with a coach for 30 minutes a week over four weeks.
We can even start smaller.
How about five minutes a day? In five minutes, we could read two or three pages of a book or listen to a quick audio tip. That is enough to move forward.
If you want to maximise your potential and turn your talent into income, email me at bernie@berniedesouza.com. I am happy to schedule a 20-minute coaching call at no cost, where I will give you some direction and one solid closing tip I have used successfully for the last three years.
No charge.
Do you need new or better Advisor support staff?
One great support staff can make a huge difference.
So I wanted to pass on this resource as it may help your 2026 business.
This is who I recommend and use to make your search fast and easy, Richard. He has over-delivered for me and the Advisors I coach for over 15 years.
He has a more cost-effective way to place quality staff, which respects people's budgets, with a lower upfront fee.
If you wish me to introduce you, I am happy to do so.
Hope your 2026 business is booming and full of Personal Introducers' events for even more prospects.
Humour
I told my brain it was time to be positive. It replied, “Have some chocolate first.”
I tried mindfulness, but my mind wandered off for a biscuit.
I started exercising for my mental health… I’ve lifted the remote control twice already.
I gave up on learning to cook to relax — the smoke alarm had other ideas.
I read that laughter is the best medicine, which explains why my doctor keeps smiling.
