If our prospects aren’t interested, they’ll simply change the subject.
So, how do we make conversations interesting?
By talking about the problems and challenges our prospects are already thinking about.
Here are five examples of great opening sentences that get attention right away:
- “If you have a few minutes, I’d like to share how we can help you pay less tax.”
- “If you have a few minutes, I’d like to share how we can help you save time with your accounting.”
- “If you have a few minutes, I’d like to tell you how my friend got a 50% raise and now works from home.”
- “If you have a few minutes, I’d like to tell you how we could work together in business.”
- “If you have a few minutes, I’d like to tell you how I get business tax deductions just like the big companies.”
When we start a conversation by focusing on the real problems our prospects want to solve, we immediately become more interesting.
So before starting your next conversation, think about this:
👉 What problem might this person want to fix right now?
That’s where the best conversations begin.
Humour
Talking of mistakes, here are a couple of gems that slipped past spellcheck:
All you do is mix two letters up and your whole post is urined.
When you left this morning, I could smell your colon on my sheets.
