The 600-Pound Gorilla…?

Here is the biggest obstacle to our business … us.

We get programmed by teachers, parents, friends, the news, TikTok, astrology, and yes, even fortune cookies.

Unfortunately, most of this programming tells us to stay small, don’t take chances, fit in with the crowd, don’t think too much, and stay where we are.

Breaking free is hard. We have to associate with different voices … oh.

We must see opportunity while others see only risks. This is easier with a support team of people moving forward.

Where can we associate with more open-minded thinkers?

  • Attend the company conventions
  • Enrol in the Master Classes
  • Change who we interact with on weekends

But we have to make the first step.

If our mindset ranks us at the bottom, #10 out of 10 people … ugh! We will find every excuse we can to avoid better associations.

The good news is that we have the power to change.

Try this method for better results

Instead of trying to get our friends “interested” in our offering … instead of trying to sell them, persuade them, or convince them … consider this approach.

Listen to our friends talk.

They normally talk about their problems in life.

If our product or service could be a possible solution for one of their problems, let them know.

For example, a friend complains about bad sleep.

We would say:

“My friend also had trouble sleeping, she was constantly worried about money, but she fixed it. Would you like to know what she did?”

Leaders appear confident

Prospects find it easier to enrol when talking to senior Partners. They feel safer. Why? Because senior Partners exude confidence.

What is a good way to show confidence?

Show power. Show that our success isn’t dependent on one prospect.

We can do this by simply offering an option at closing. We could say:

“You can change your situation now by getting started, or you can choose not to get started and keep your situation the same. It’s your choice.”
