Not a good talker?

You win!

Prospects love listeners. They love talking about themselves and their problems, and you can be their audience.

Plus, listeners have a big advantage. Listeners know their prospects’ problems. Talkers? They are too busy pitching to know their prospects.

Talkers vs. Listeners

Teacher: "What do you call a person who keeps talking when no one is interested?"

Child: "A salesperson."

Why listening rocks and makes us superstars:

  1. Prevents misunderstanding. We understand our prospects’ thinking.
  2. Prospects feel our empathy. They have to love that!
  3. Opens up more opportunities as we listen for concerns and problems.
  4. When prospects feel heard, oh my! Feelings make decisions.
  5. We become more persuasive as prospects will trust us more.
  6. We save time as we know exactly what our prospects want to know.
  7. Prospects look at us as confident leaders who respect their opinions.
  8. We build trust and rapport.
  9. Prospects love us as no one else listens to them.
  10. Listening gives us a chance to gather our thoughts before speaking.

Why handicap ourselves by talking? Listening is so much easier and more effective.
