Easy.
The #1 thing we can do to get better fast is to … do something.
Most people plan and talk about and plan what they intend to do, but never get into action. It is impossible to learn how to do things without actually trying them.
It is the little failures along the way that help us adjust and master our new skills. Remember, we didn’t learn how to ride a bicycle by reading a book. We had to do little failures along the way to get the experience. But now? Yeah! We can ride a bicycle.
We don’t learn how to swim or fly an airplane by reading a book. And, we certainly won’t learn how to talk to people correctly by just thinking about it. Yes, we need some actual conversation experience.
Don’t worry. We don’t have to be brave. We can start small. For example, we could start by just saying “hi” to people that we meet. We can grow from there.
The good news is that we can be building our business while learning how to talk to people correctly.
The best investment of all time?
Amazon.com? Facebook? Tesla? Bitcoin?
Or … investing in ourselves?
The answer is obvious.
Why settle for little returns when we can get a huge boost in income from investing in ourselves? That payoff is for a lifetime.
Learn new things.
There are two types of Professionals I meet:
- Problem solvers
- Problem creators
Make sure we invest our limited time with the problem solvers.
They are the future leaders and mentors.
Humour
Some old favourites from Ken Dodd……
"I haven't spoken to my mother-in-law for 18 months. I don't like to interrupt her.”
"My act is very educational. I heard a man leaving the other night, saying: 'Well, that taught me a lesson.’"
"I do all the exercises every morning in front of the television - up, down, up, down, up, down. Then the other eyelid.”
"I wanted to take the dog to obedience class but it wouldn't go."
"Did you hear about the shrimp that went to the prawn's cocktail party? He pulled a mussel."
