How To Get People To Sell Your Product To Themselves

We all have this in built fear that people are trying to sell to us. When we go somewhere and somebody is trying to sell to us, our defenses go up. We are on guard, and it feels uncomfortable, so we switch off. Have you ever wondered how to bypass this reaction so that your customers ask you to tell them more about your products or services?

Well I'm going to give you the tips and techniques to get people saying things like:

“How?”
“Tell me more”
“I'm interested”
“How do I get involved?”

… just like the most successful advertising companies do to you.

So how does it work? Like this:

FACT +
FACT +
HOOK

Let me give you a couple of examples:

“Speaking in public can be stressful (FACT) and give you sleepless nights (FACT), but some people have figured out how to give perfect presentations every time (HOOK)”

You see that? Here is another example:

“Getting more clients can be difficult (FACT), learning the skills to sell is uncomfortable (FACT). But some people have figured out a way to get more clients more easily and more often without even selling (HOOK)”

This works by giving people 2 believable facts in a row, which tells their mind that you are speaking with knowledge and expertise. This is when you give them your hook, but you can’t just go straight for the sale or else they smell the pitch, and switch off.

The key is to use a third party approach with the hook. When you say “I” it sounds like you are selling something. When you say “some people”  or “some companies,” it triggers the “tell me more” thought process. We talk a lot about this in my “15 Magic Words training as well.

Read the following two statements and tell me which one sounds like a sales pitch:

“Getting more clients can be difficult, learning the skills to sell is uncomfortable. But I have figured out a way to get more clients more easily more often without even selling”

OR

“Getting more clients can be difficult, learning the skills to sell is uncomfortable. But some people have figured out a way to get more clients more easily more often without even selling”

The first one definitely sounded like you were selling something, while the second example sounded like you were just having a conversation.
Most people don’t understand the power of this concept and keep making the same mistakes when trying to make a sale. But some people use the above approach and make more sales, more easily and more often.

Try it out! I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the results.
